Terms of service
Last updated
Mowji is developed and operated by Francesco Bonomi. These terms apply when you download or use the Mowji Mac app, use its trial, buy a license, or visit mowji.app. By doing any of these, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Mowji. The privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
The short version
- The trial is free for 150 lifetime emoji insertions.
- A license is a one-time purchase for up to 3 Macs. It doesn't expire, and updates are included.
- Dodo Payments sells the license as merchant of record and handles payment and tax.
- You can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase, no reason required.
- Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.
Trying Mowji
Downloading Mowji is free and doesn't buy a license. The trial lets you use the app for 150 lifetime emoji insertions. After that, you need a license to keep using Mowji. The license terms below also apply to the trial, except for the parts about payment and refunds.
Buying a license
Licenses are sold by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Dodo runs checkout, charges your payment method, calculates and collects any tax, and emails your license key once the payment succeeds. Its Buyer Terms apply to the payment and order. These terms cover the license itself.
The current price is shown on the pricing page in USD. The launch offer is limited to the first 100 licenses sold. Checkout shows the final price, including tax, before you pay. Later price changes don't affect a license you already bought.
Refunds
You can request a full refund within 7 days of your original purchase. No reason is required. Email francesco+licenses@mowji.app with your order number or the email address you used at checkout. Dodo issues the refund to your original payment method. A refunded license is no longer valid.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content delivered right away, such as a license key, that right ends once delivery begins if you agreed to immediate delivery at checkout. The 7-day refund applies either way, and it doesn't affect your rights if Mowji doesn't work as described.
If something goes wrong with a purchase, please contact support before disputing the charge with your bank. Most problems can be fixed or refunded quickly.
Your license
When you buy a license, Francesco Bonomi grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Mowji on up to 3 Macs that you own or control, for personal or work use. A license is for one person. It doesn't expire, and updates to Mowji are included at no extra cost.
Activating a license needs an internet connection, and the app checks it again from time to time. If you need to move your license to a different Mac after reaching the limit, contact support.
You may not:
- share, publish, or resell your license key;
- get around the trial limit or license activation;
- copy, distribute, rent, or sell Mowji, or modified versions of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Mowji, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
Mowji, its name, icon, and design belong to Francesco Bonomi. A license lets you use the app. It doesn't transfer ownership of it.
Compatibility and updates
Mowji requires macOS 15+ and macOS Accessibility permission, called Device Control and Data Access on macOS 27, to insert emoji in other apps. Some apps may not accept inserted text. Changes to macOS or other apps could affect how Mowji works, so continued functionality and compatibility cannot be guaranteed indefinitely. Updates can add, change, or remove features. Try the app during the trial to check that it works with the apps you use.
Warranty
Mowji is provided as is, to the extent the law allows. If you're a consumer, you have a legal guarantee that digital content you buy matches its description and works as described, under the law of the country where you live. These terms don't limit that guarantee. If Mowji doesn't conform, contact support and the problem will be fixed, or you'll get a refund if it can't be.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Francesco Bonomi's total liability to you for anything related to Mowji is limited to the amount you paid for your license, and there is no liability for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data. This doesn't limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, intent, or gross negligence, or for anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Ending the license
You can stop using Mowji at any time by deleting the app. If you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling your license key, your license can be ended and its key deactivated. Where reasonable, you'll be told first and given a chance to fix the problem. The sections on warranty, liability, and law continue to apply after a license ends.
Feedback
If you send feedback or suggestions, Mowji may use them to improve the product without owing you anything for them. The privacy policy explains what happens to the information you include.
The website
The website describes Mowji and may change at any time. Comparisons with other apps reflect the versions tested and can become outdated as those apps change. Links to other sites are provided for convenience, and their own terms apply. You're welcome to link to and quote the site, but please don't copy its content or design wholesale.
Changes to these terms
Mowji updates this page and its date when these terms change. Changes apply from that date. They won't reduce what a license you already bought includes, such as its device limit, lack of expiry, or included updates, without your agreement.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you're a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts. Please contact support first, so the issue can be resolved informally.
